Changelog :

  • Bug corrected : if you had 2 categories which names were similar, you could have the same icon for each category (for example : “Network” and “PlayStation Network”) in the sidebar
  • Bug corrected : in the category page, only that category icon is displayed in front of the title if the post has more than one category
  • Bug corrected : works with multisites
  • Now if there is only one icon to display, the display priority is automatically activated
  • In the Icons management panel, you’re informed if an image is not found or not displayable
  • The put_cat_icons function (used by the widget) works with WP 3.1+
  • You can now choose to get the list from put_cat_icons to process it or to display it (default behaviour). Use this to not display the list :

  1. This plugin appears to break some of the images in the admin panel. They never finish loading. Works great otherwise though!

  2. It would be nice if the widget had an option to allow only displaying categories that actually have got an icon and hide those that haven’t instead of displaying their names.

  3. It would also help to be able to select the “order by” parameter through the widget so that one could display for instance only 10 random categories and these would change every time (because of the random orderby).
    By the way thanks a lot for your work on this plugin.

  4. Hello!
    Thank you for the great plugin!
    I lost where did I put a comment here and can’t find if you have answered it, sorry.
    I had no problem using the plugin until I started assigning tags to the post. Now in the archive thread by a tag it shows random icon for a category that has nothing to do with that tag.
    How can I avoid an icon shown in the archive by tag thread or assign the icons for the tags as for categories?

  5. Hey!,

    Is possible show the category icons for a post?, i’m using this code for show the recent post, but i need to show the category icon:

    function show_posts() {
    $args = array( ‘numberposts’ => ’30′ );
    $recent_posts = wp_get_recent_posts( $args );
    foreach( $recent_posts as $recent ){
    echo ‘‘ . $recent["post_title"].’ ‘;
    } }

  6. The plugin is made for that, so I’m not sure to understand what you want… Maybe you should have a look to the How To…
